The Eye of Knowledge: Exploring Taiwan’s Humanities through AI—Challenges and Futures
Room 101, Barry Lam Hall, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan
2025. 06. 14
Intro
With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies, particularly large language models (LLMs), traditional academic methodologies have transcended data processing limitations, unveiling new research horizons and possibilities. For the humanities disciplines, AI applications have not only fundamentally transformed how researchers access, comprehend, and utilize knowledge, but have also progressed from preliminary exploration toward more profound integration and implementation. Scholars are actively deploying these technologies in historical document analysis, literary style identification, philosophical concept modeling, and related domains, leveraging advanced data processing and modeling capabilities to advance research agendas with unprecedented perspectives and efficiency.
This symposium aims to provide an advanced interdisciplinary platform for exchange, inviting and bringing together humanities scholars and AI technology experts to explore in depth the latest developments, frontier applications, and key challenges of artificial intelligence in contemporary humanities research, while establishing foundations for future innovations in research methodologies and collaborative frameworks. Through this symposium, we aspire to foster profound cross-disciplinary dialogue and cooperation, investigating how AI technologies can enable more effective, profound, and forward-looking research in humanities disciplines, serving as a critical partner in driving academic breakthroughs and innovation.
