TAIHU Project Team Consensus Meeting: Pioneering a New Model for Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Amid the global wave of generative AI, the “TAIHU Project” continues to champion a spirit of openness and co-creation, leading the way in innovative collaborations between the humanities and artificial intelligence. To further solidify its core values and future direction, the TAIHU Project team held a consensus meeting on June 29, 2025, bringing together members from its database, technology, and user experience teams. From foundational goals to tangible outcomes, the team worked together to shape a shared vision for the project’s future.
The meeting employed a symbolic visual tool, The Prosperous Tree, to guide the consensus-building process. Team members used the “roots” to represent the shared values and collaborative culture to be firmly established—such as a growth mindset and a spirit of openness and proactive learning. The “trunk” and “branches” illustrated the project’s stable and ongoing core activities and independently developing workstreams, respectively. These helped strengthen internal collaboration and communication mechanisms, ensuring system development is aligned with user needs and product positioning. Finally, the “flowers” and “fruits” symbolized the project’s key achievements and long-term vision. To date, the project has successfully hosted two conferences, promoted and tested the system through educational courses, and is expanding partnerships for building more humanities-related databases. The ultimate goal is for TAIHU to become a precise and reliable humanities knowledge assistant and to promote cultural research in Taiwan.
Through this consensus meeting, the TAIHU Project successfully fostered in-depth collaboration and effective communication across diverse fields. Professionals from the humanities, social sciences, information technology, and design came together to engage in dialogue and joint problem-solving on a shared platform. The meeting not only aligned the team around a collective vision for the future but also laid the foundation for a new model of interdisciplinary AI system development. The TAIHU team remains committed to openness, inclusivity, and hands-on practice in building a future where humanities and AI thrive together.
